United Nations
has declared the year 2005 as
the "World Year of Physics"
in respect and memory of Sir
Albert Einstein who in the year
1905 had made three remarkable
discoveries - The Theory of
Relativity, Brownian Motion
and The Photo Electric Effect.
The theory of relativity is
regarded as one of the greatest
creations of a human mind which
helps to understand space and
time in its true colour and
which has helped the furtherance
of science and technology.
It is seen
that there is a declining trend
in the study of basic science
by the present generation of
student community all over the
world and which is a negative
indication for all round development
of mankind in time to come.
This trend needs reversal and
as such U.N.O, as a remedial
measure had declared the year
2005 as the World Year of Physics
to bring attention to the global
population about the importance
of physics and physical sciences
in all walks of human life.
The effort
was taken up by Rastriya Vigyan
Evam Prodyogiki Sanchar Parishad
(RVPSP), Vigyan Prasar, Dept.
of Science and Technology, Govt.
of India and ASTE Council in
holding this workshop to train
up the master resource persons
to carry forward the aims and
objectives of World Year of
Physics in their respective

Panbazar during June 15 - 17,
2005. The workshop cum training
programme was organized to train
up the Master Resource Persons
